Ingredients

1 cup ketchup
¼ cup apple cider vinegar
¼ cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons molasses
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Salt and black pepper to taste

Method

  1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Stir well and bring to a simmer.
  3. Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
  4. Cool slightly before using, or store in a sealed container in the fridge for up to a week.
