The 2013 Carte Blanche Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon showcases vineyard selections from both Oakville’s valley floor and Calistoga’s rocky hillside. 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine reveals the delicate balance of ripe dark fruits, plush velvety tannins from Beckstoffer’s Missouri Hopper Vineyard, and savory notes, structure and minerality from Blossom Creek Vineyard. Blossom Creek’s 4% Petite Verdot provides a brooding base note, depth and nuance. A hint of Cabernet Franc, 1% from Beckstoffer’s ToKalon Vineyard, was the perfect touch to round out this stunning wine.
With each harvest, we will blend the finest fruit from each block utilizing our Bordeaux varietals to complete our signature Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark and brooding, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is loaded with power, it begs for air and patience, showing black currant, black cherry, and freshly crushed cassis berry as it gradually opens. A dense core layered with personality – black and red currant emerge along with cocoa, graphite, and undertones of aged tobacco leaf.
