The 2011 Carte Blanche Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon showcases vineyard selections from both Oakville’s valley floor and Calistoga’s rocky hillside. 95.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine reveals the delicate balance of ripe dark fruits, plush velvety tannins from Beckstoffer’s Missouri Hopper Vineyard, and savory notes, structure and minerality from Blossom Creek Vineyard. Blossom Creek’s 4.5% Petite Verdot provides a brooding base note, depth and nuance.
With each harvest, we will blend the finest fruit from each block utilizing our Bordeaux varietals to complete our signature Cabernet Sauvignon. The nose opens to reveal dried fig, wet cedar, with high notes of black cherry and white pepper. On the palate, the attack reveals silky tannins showcasing blackberry, cassis, dried Provençal herbs and graphite. Bittersweet chocolate, black cherry and tobacco linger on the finish. Fine grain tannins and lively acidity will allow for cellar aging. 400 cases produced
